Hardeman County Release Records
A Hardeman County release is the end of one custody episode. It does not always mean the person is free from every form of custody or supervision. The Hardeman County Criminal Justice Complex is the county jail, and the Sheriff's Office records its booking events. Hardeman County Correctional Facility and Whiteville Correctional Facility are state prisons. Their prisoners and releases are tracked by the Tennessee Department of Correction, not by the sheriff's monthly report.
The destination matters. Someone may return to the community, begin probation, leave prison on parole, move to another institution, or pass to another agency under a detainer. A detainer is a request that one agency hold or transfer a person for another agency. Each outcome creates a different trail. The county report can prove that a CJC booking ended, but a TDOC, federal, or immigration tool may be needed next. Court records can explain the legal order while the custody record supplies the physical release time.
Important: A departure from the county jail may be a transfer. Confirm the receiving agency before describing it as release to the community.
Hardeman County Release Types
Release terms describe different events. Bond ends detention while a charge continues. An own-recognizance or other court-ordered release also leaves the case unresolved. Time served means a court applied confinement or credit toward a sentence. Dismissal and acquittal are case outcomes, though jail staff may record the physical departure at another time. Probation is a court-ordered term in the community. Parole is conditional release before a state sentence expires after Board action, an approved plan, and final processing.

The sheriff PDF shows Bond Amount, yet that sum does not prove bond caused release. Nor do Classification, Charge, or Court Date prove the result of a case. Hardeman County released-inmate research must keep the recorded timestamp apart from the legal reason and final disposition.

Hardeman County Release Record Fields
The official month-to-date iSOMS report is labeled “Intake Press Release With Image.” Its strongest released-inmate field is Release Date/Time. The report also links that timestamp to Inmate Name and Intake Date/Time, which helps separate repeated bookings. It includes Race, Sex, City, Bond Amount, Agency, Arrest Agency, Arrest Location, Intake Reason, Charge, Court Date/Time, Statute Code, Description, a report interval, print time, and photograph.

A fuller sheriff record may contain the booking number, release authority, bond or court order, hold, transfer destination, or property details if those records exist and are not exempt. Those items are not promised by the online report. Ask for them by name. The print timestamp also controls interpretation. A blank release field says only that no release appeared for that entry when the PDF was printed.
Request Hardeman County Release Records
Start with the Hardeman County Sheriff's Office for a CJC booking and release record. The county's general public-records policy expressly says that the Sheriff's Office maintains a separate policy. For that reason, do not assume the county mayor's fee schedule or form controls sheriff material. Call Booking at 731-228-3016 and ask for the current sheriff request form, records contact, citizenship requirement, delivery choices, fee terms, and office availability.
- Identify the person and the approximate CJC intake and release range. Add the booking or case number when known.
- Request the booking number, admission and release dates and times, recorded release type or authority, and receiving agency if transferred.
- Ask for the nonexempt custody log and booking photograph only when those items are relevant. Request electronic delivery when available.
- Ask for a cost estimate before chargeable work. If material is withheld, request the nonexempt part and the legal basis for withholding.
The general county policy permits inspection requests at 100 N. Main Street or 731-658-3266. Inspection is free. Written copy requests may require proof of Tennessee citizenship. Its listed terms are $0.20 per black-and-white letter or legal page, $20 per labor hour, outside-vendor cost, postage, and possible prepayment. These are general county terms only. When prompt production is not practical, that policy calls for a response within seven business days, not guaranteed completion.
For a state prison history, use the TDOC archived-record request. Include the full name, TOMIS number, birth date, requester contact details, reason, and a precise description. TDOC says archive-search charges may apply and tells requesters not to prepay. Hardeman County Release Record Access
The Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 10-7-501 and following, generally lets Tennessee citizens inspect or obtain public records unless an exception applies. Sections 10-7-503 and 10-7-504 address access and exceptions. Inspection normally has no charge. If prompt production is not practical, the custodian generally has seven business days to produce the record, deny access with a legal basis, or provide a written estimate of more time.
Public access is not absolute. Juvenile, medical, victim-identifying, investigative, sealed, and expunged material may be withheld or redacted. Court files are also governed by Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 34, other law, protective orders, and sealing rules. A valid denial should state its basis. Online visibility is separate from record retention: the sheriff's report rolls forward by month, but no official sheriff retention period or online archive promise was found.
Hardeman County Records After Expungement
The Hardeman County Circuit Court Clerk links to Tennessee disposition, diversion, and expungement resources. Tennessee Courts says eligible outcomes can include dismissal, no true bill, arrest and release without a charge, acquittal, or nolle prosequi. A retired matter or dismissal with costs may require more work. The application belongs in the court where the matter began, and certified copies may be needed.
Expungement means the legal removal of eligible official records under an order. It should not be confused with a routine monthly report rollover. The Hardeman clerk can help identify whether General Sessions or Circuit holds the case file and can provide the proper packet. West Tennessee Legal Services serves Hardeman County by appointment. No source supports a promise that an expungement order automatically clears all old news pages or independent copies.
Note: Ask the originating court what the order covers, then ask each government custodian how the completed order changes access.
Hardeman County Courts and Release Records
Most local criminal matters begin in Hardeman General Sessions Court, which handles misdemeanors and felony preliminary hearings. Circuit Court is the court of record for criminal cases, grand-jury material, post-conviction proceedings, and appeals. Hardeman County Release Statistics
TDOC publishes Jail Summary Reports based on information county jail administrators provide. The reports contain last-day-of-month population snapshots and calendar-year or fiscal-year average jail populations. They can show the scale of confinement in Hardeman County when the report period is stated. They do not show how many people were released, how often the jail turned over, or how long an average booking lasted.
That limit is crucial. A one-day count cannot be converted into annual Hardeman County releases. Nor can an average population prove a release rate. Use the TDOC jail summary reports only for their labeled measures. The sheriff release timestamps, Booking confirmation, and requested records remain the sources for person-level departure events.

- Call Booking when the release field is blank, the PDF is old, the month has changed, or the reason and destination matter.
- For HCCF or Whiteville, search TDOC FOIL. Read status, location, sentence, parole, and release information together.
- Check the Hardeman court file for bond, dismissal, judgment, probation, or time-served language. Use the proper national locator only when another system is involved.
- Request the release record when no public view answers the question or when formal documentation is needed.
Names alone can mislead. Compare middle name, city, sex, race, intake date, arrest agency, and case context in the sheriff report. Use TOMIS or TDOC ID for FOIL when possible. Keep each intake and release pair together because one person may have more than one entry in the same month.
Hardeman County Recent Release Report
Hardeman County has no verified official rolling 24-hour or 72-hour release feed. The official alternative is the Sheriff's Office running month-to-date intake report, updated weekly. The screen is the confirmed online starting point, not a live custody board. Call Booking to cover changes since printing. A later monthly PDF may drop an older cohort because the publication window changed, not because the underlying record was destroyed.

Neither verified description promises a Hardeman roster, release feed, or release alert. The month-to-date PDF remains the confirmed official web channel for local booking images and release timestamps.
TDOC Hardeman County Release Search
The Tennessee Department of Correction Felony Offender Information Lookup covers felony offenders currently or formerly in TDOC custody or supervision. FOIL may show a photograph, status, location, offenses, sentence information, parole-hearing status, and release information. TDOC gives incarcerated, probation, parole, and inactive as status examples. Probation or parole indicates community supervision when the rest of the record agrees. Inactive is a post-state-custody clue. Incarcerated does not mean released.
Open the TDOC FOIL search, complete its CAPTCHA, and use the most precise name or TOMIS identifier available. Compare identifiers before opening a result. Then record the status, location, sentence, hearing, and release panels with the date accessed. Release Eligibility Date, often called RED, is an eligibility milestone. It must not be renamed as the actual release date.

This statewide form is not the normal lookup for a short county misdemeanor booking. If the result remains unclear, request TDOC's archived release record or contact the responsible supervision office.
Hardeman County Release Supervision
Leaving confinement does not always end a sentence. Parole is Board-authorized conditional release before sentence expiration. A grant is not an immediate gate event because TDOC requires an approved release plan and may require pre-parole conditions. Probation comes from a court and may begin directly or after split confinement. TDOC says a probationer must report within 48 hours of placement or release from split confinement.
Hardeman County is served within TDOC Community Supervision District 60. No standalone Hardeman reentry office was verified. Start with the assigned TDOC officer or District 60 instead of assuming the prison or sheriff handles community reporting. The district covers several West Tennessee counties, so the approved residence, not the prison location, helps determine the assigned office. Hardeman County Release Alerts
Tennessee VINE provides custody-change notifications for TDOC and can use phone, email, text, or TTY. TDOC participation is confirmed. Hardeman County Jail participation was not independently confirmed, so search a named booking live or call the VINE operator at 888-868-4631 before relying on a county alert. A transfer notice is not community release. If release type or destination matters, confirm the alert with the originating agency record.
The Bureau of Prisons locator applies only to federal custody. BOP results show name, register number, age, race, sex, date, and location or status. A past date with no institution can mean federal release, while RELEASED means no longer in BOP custody. IN TRANSIT is not release, and UNKNOWN means the term has not been determined. Leaving BOP custody also does not prove that every federal supervision term ended.
ICE's Online Detainee Locator uses an A-number and country of birth or exact name and country details. Its released-person coverage lasts only 60 days. A CJC departure to an ICE detainer is a transfer, not return to the community. No dedicated ICE facility or BOP prison was verified in Hardeman County. USMS has no comparable public historical released-person locator.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Sex Offender Registry is a narrow post-custody source for people with a legal registration duty. It may show a photograph, aliases, offender ID, status, addresses, report dates, and registering agency. ACTIVE information can support a current community-status check, while INACTIVE-INCARCERATED conflicts with a release assumption. The registry updates daily, but it is never a general Hardeman County released-inmate list.
Note: Change search systems when a record names a receiving agency; repeated searches in the prior system cannot confirm the next custody event.
Hardeman County Released or Held
The label and agency must agree. A populated CJC Release Date/Time closes that county booking but may lead to another custodian. FOIL must be read through both status and location. Hardeman County Release Facilities
Hardeman County contains one sheriff jail and two CoreCivic-managed TDOC prisons. Their close locations and similar names make system labels vital. The sheriff report covers CJC bookings from HCSO and local police agencies. It does not report releases from either Whiteville state prison.
- Hardeman County Criminal Justice Complex is the county jail at 505 S. Main Street in Bolivar. Check the sheriff PDF, Booking, a release-record request, and the court file.
- Hardeman County Correctional Facility is a 1,976-bed contracted medium-security state prison at 2520 Union Springs Road in Whiteville. Use TDOC FOIL, TDOC records, Tennessee VINE, and community-supervision records.
- Whiteville Correctional Facility is a minimum-to-medium state “time-building prison” at 1440 Union Springs Road. Its release path also belongs to TDOC, not the county report.
Moving from CJC to TDOC closes the county episode but continues confinement. A move between HCCF and Whiteville is also a transfer. Actual release to the community may lead to parole, probation, mandatory reentry supervision, or no further supervision, depending on the authoritative sentence and release record.
